Comfort Zones

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I recently celebrated KeInTheCity.com's one year anniversary. Cue the confetti, guys! I made it to one year, and over the course of that year, I've grown so much. I launched my baby blog as a creative outlet. It was a way for me to show my style, share my thoughts, and shine a positive light on my city. Most importantly, it gave me fulfillment while working an unfulfilling job.

I had so many worries in the beginning. What do I wear? What do I write? Will anyone even care? Am I about to embarrass myself? As an introvert, I tend to overthink things. Eventually this leads to me thinking of all the ways things could go wrong. For the sake of my sanity, I trained myself to think differently. Instead of dwelling on the ways things could go wrong, I focused on the ways things could go right.

This method of positive thinking helped push me out of my comfort zone. It's essential that we all step out of our comfort zones. That's when the real growth happens.

Since stepping out of my comfort zone, I've been able to do some cool things in my first year. I've written for the Baltimore Times, cruised around DC in the Odyssey with fabulous blogger Commecoco, covered a red carpet with Boris & Nicole Parker, modeled for MILQ Magazine, partnered with Coach, and more. It's crazy to think of how boring my life would be right now if I never took the risk.

So, the moral of this post? Say no to comfort zones. But say yes to comfortable clothes! This bodysuit was so comfy to wear and the perfect light weight fabric for Baltimore's warm weather. Because I love layers, I added a loose top over the bodysuit & simple layered necklaces.
