Heyyy. Happy Wednesday! I know we're making our way through the workweek, but can we rewind to the weekend for a bit?
Okay, let's go back to Sunday. I had the privilege of covering the launch event of Mikey's Miracle Foundation for the Baltimore Times.
Baltimore blogger, Jade, launched this foundation after her mom passed from cancer.
Her amazing foundation provides Thanksgiving dinner, meal prep, counseling, religious guidance, and hospital transportation for cancer patients enduring chemo. The launch event took place at the stunningly gorgeous Ivy Hotel. I had an amazing time and was happy to donate. To see my full recap & all the pretty pictures, click here. Ok, now let's rewind a bit more! Saturday I was invited to cover the red carpet for the Baltimore Times' 30th Anniversary Gala (thanks Cassandra!). It was a huge celebration of their mission, "Positive stories about Positive people". Positivity in the Black community is often outshined by negativity in the media. The Times' success with sharing positive stories was definitely a reason to celebrate. Cassandra, blogger/host Kyla, photographer JaQuan, and I divided and conquered the carpet.
It was a great experience and the perfect opportunity to put my new camera to the test. If you didn't notice from my last post, I finally got a camera! I wanted the Sony a7, but my pockets were not havin it. I settled for the 6000 and I'm very happy with it so far. It's compact enough to throw in my purse, but quality enough to give me great images.
I'll be doing a post soon dedicated to Sunday's AH-mazing vintage dress.
Now we can return to present time. I'm sitting at my desk...far from the glamour of the weekend. Well, that's all for now. Thanks for reading!
