Bad Habits

I know I said it felt nothing like Fall in my last post, but a lot changes in 2 weeks!  The weather is cooling off quickly and it's starting to feel like Fall for real. As the seasons change, it's important to check in and see if there are ways we should change too. This week I'm highlighting 4 bad habits to fall out of this Fall.  These habits are detrimental to happiness and personal growth. I want to see us all flourish, so let's get into this list.

1. Comparisons

This one is a killer. I'm sure you've heard "comparison is the thief of joy" before. It's so true. Don't make yourself feel terrible by comparing yourself to others. You're on your own journey and your journey has a unique timeline. One that can't be rushed. One that will reveal itself to you in perfect timing. Focusing on another's journey will only distract you from seeing the beauty of yours. Stay focused and keep moving forward.

2. Self Care

You can cross everything off of your to do list, but if you're not taking care of yourself, you should reevaluate that list. It's important to help others, but you're no help to others if you neglect your own needs for too long. Self care doesn't have to be extravagant; it only needs to make you feel refreshed. Whether it's a trip to the nail salon or a night in with your friends, carve out some time to cater to yourself.

3. Social Media

As a blogger, I love social media, but too much of it can be overload. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat...the list goes on and on. It's impossible to keep up with all of these and you shouldn't try. You'll be quickly inundated by everyone's thoughts, individual voices, and sometimes, a ton of negativity. Take some time away from social media to focus on your own inner voice and create your own unique opinions. And please, pleaseeee know that Flat Tummy Tea is not a miracle fat burner.

4. Approval

You. Do. Not. Need. Outward. Approval. Say it with me. Say it to yourself. You can describe your goal vividly, create a vision board, and share your plan of action, but nobody will understand your vision quite like you do. They don't have to. The vision is yours, the steps are for you, and it's your job to make it happen. If you approve and you believe, that's all the confirmation you need.

I've done all four of these at one point and I know I'm not alone. Let's all avoid these bad habits and continue to grow into our best selves. As always, I'm rooting for you.
